I AM NOW OFFICIALLY A LONDON MARATHON FINISHER! As of 3 days ago, I finally managed to tick off one of my three major life aspirations – to be a marathon runner. … More I DID IT!
As you can probably tell, my plan to blog more in the lead up to the marathon has totally failed, because it’s been 2 weeks since I last posted. To be fair to myself, I do have a pretty good excuse, because in that time I have handed in two 2000 word essays, passed my driving test and been maniacally writing my dissertation (which is due in exactly a month now – cue total meltdown). … More 6 days, 14 hours and 10 minutes to go!
Since I started blogging, one of my favourite posts to write was 57 thoughts I have whilst running. (If you haven’t read it, please go check it out, I laughed while writing it so hopefully you might laugh reading it!). Because I enjoyed writing it so much, I thought I’d do a similar post and talk about the sort of mental stages I go through on my long runs. When you’re out running for over 2 hours, you have a lot of time to think, and I don’t know about anyone else, but I go through a lot of different moods and thought processes. Please don’t think I’m a total weirdo after this, I challenge anyone to run by themselves for 2 hours and not think about some really weird things! … More The 7 Stages of a Long Run
I know I basically forgot about my blog for a couple of weeks, but now I am actually going to try to post more regular updates, especially as it’s less than 6 weeks until the marathon! The time has gone so fast, and it’s slightly freaking me out as once the marathon is over it’s only 3 weeks until my dissertation deadline (cue total meltdown because I’ve written about 700 words out of 10,000). … More Why did I run up Leigh Steps?
Ok, so the title of this post is a bit of an exaggeration, because I haven’t actually been physically attacked by a deer but I have been totally scared by them a few times! I also wrote this post a little while ago but have been so busy at uni recently that I haven’t had a chance to edit it and post it til now. I almost forgot I actually had a blog, it’s been that long. … More Getting attacked by deer in Richmond Park
This post is just a bit of fun, I just decided to write down all the thoughts I had whilst out on a 40 minute run. Enjoy! … More 57 thoughts I have whilst running
Running is hard. Anyone who says it is is either lying, or has never run before in their life. I know that sometimes I can find it really hard to motivate myself to go out for a run, so I thought I’d write a post about the things I do to make myself get up and go. … More Struggling to motivate yourself?
Another week has gone by, and even though my exam week is over and university hasn’t started yet, I still seem to have had a really busy week. Firstly I had to buy and start reading all my books for next semester, which involved a lot of shopping online trying to find the best deals, as when you’ve got about 15 books to buy you don’t want to be paying full price! … More Squats and Belly Blitzing
So I’m only halfway into my third week of training, and I’ve already discovered that juggling university life and marathon training is a lot harder than I anticipated! … More Revision vs Running
Today’s post is a bit special, as it gives me a chance to talk about a charity that is important to me. I’m lucky enough that nobody in my immediate family is affected by dementia. … More Alzheimer’s Society Marathon Training day
